摘  要:词汇作为语言学习所必须的三大要素之一,在语言学习和语言交际中起着非常重要的作用。也是语言教学的难点之一。近年来,我国英语教学界关注的焦点大多集中在语用、语篇、交际能力、跨文化交际、学习策略和学习动机的研究等方面,而对词汇的研究似乎日渐衰落。本文拟通过综合阐述国内外对英语词汇学习在英语学习中的地位和作用的研究,呼吁大学英语教育阶段一定要重视词汇教学,提高对词汇量的教学要求。As one of the three major essential factors for language study, the glossary study is playing a much important role in language study and in communications. It is one of the most difficult points in language teaching as well. In recent years, more and more attention in English teaching is mostly concentrated on the language itself, on the communication ability, on the cross cultural human relations, and on the study strategy and study motive research. Instead, the glossary research seems to decline day after day. Thus, through combining and comparing the current situation in elaborate domestic and foreign English glossary research on its function, the article intends to appeal to the public that, to improve and upgrade college English teaching, the glossary teaching needs to be taken into account and certain actions needs to be taken to enlarge the student's vocabulary in teaching.
