摘　　要：西汉与“头”有关的词共7个,其中最重要的是“首”和“头”,它们在西汉的情况是“首”已呈萎缩的状态,而“头”蓬勃发展,在频率和用法上都占优势,研究还发现,“头”在汉语史中先后发生了“首”取代“元”、“头”取代“首”,“脑”又正在取代“头”这样一种历时更替．之所以会这样,是因为“头”本身需要相对独立的义项而表达“头”的词又总是义项繁多所致,可以说,语义表达的矛盾正是身体词变化多于其它核心词的原因．There are 7 words about head＇s semantic field in the Western Han（汉） Dynasty. In the Chinese history, we found head have changed three times. The reason about this is that the body words need independent words to express itself, yet these words were always own many meanings, this cause body word to find new words to displace itself.
