摘　　要：曾国藩是5000年中国传统主流文化培育出来的优秀成功者:事功大成、文章卓著、人格高尚、修养如海,给我们留下了实实在在的宝贵文化遗产。他以身体力行激励着出身贫寒人家子弟的成长和进取,以他不断完善的人格和不断充实的学养对中国传统主流文化做了最深重的实践。“读书只为进德修业,”在建立事功和探索真知的过程中,他非常注重完善自己的人格修炼,同时又以不断趋于完善的人格来促进事功的建立和真知的探索。他以“礼”处世、运世,达到了“内圣外王”的最高人格境界。Zeng Guofan is one of the most outstanding successes which Chinese traditional mainstream culture has cultivated in the past five thousand years with a successful undertaking, distinguished writing, noble character and magnanimous self-cultivation, he has left behind real precious cultural legacy for us. He sets a good example by himself to inspire those who are h＇om impoverished families to keep making progress and forging ahead and put Chinese traditional mainstream culture into serious practice with his unceasing improvement of personality and continuous enrichment of his own education and cultivation.＂ Reading is for the improvement of moral character and academic accomplishment＂. In the course of establishing his undertaking and pursuing real knowledge, he attached great importance to the cultivation of his moral character and thus at the same time his undertaking and pursuit of true knowledge are enhanced by doing so. He reaches the acme of perfection in moral integrity which is ＂excellent in both moral character and in governing＂ by conducting himself and exercising leadership in society with ＂etiquette＂.
