摘　　要：通过对JJG139-1999和ASTM E4-03(方法C)标准的对比,指出两种标准对万能拉力试验机在检定方法上具有等效性,为按照API Spec 5L标准生产的钢管采用万能拉力试验机进行检定提供了理论依据。Based on comparison of Standard JJG139-1999 and Standard ASTM E4-03 （Method C）, it is concluded that the said two standards are equivalent to each other in terms of calibration method for the universal tensile testing machine, which provides relevant theoretic basis for calibration of the universal tensile testing machine to inspect steel tubes as made according to API Spec. 5L.
