摘　　要：从技术的角度分析了不同时期BASIC语言的特征及代表产品,从市场和应用特点两个方面对BASIC语言现状作了剖析,揭示了当前BASIC语言所面临的挑战以及与之互倚的机遇,进一步指出了BASIC语言的未来发展态势.By way of a technical analysis of the BASIC language' s characteristics and its representative products at various stages, and a dissection of the language's status quo from the two respects of market and application features, this article has first brought to light both the challenges and the coexisting opportunities faced with by the present BASIC language , and then laid out the steps proposed to popularize computer knowledge in the higher education institutions, especially in those of secondary and elementary education ,of our province on the basis of a predicion for the future devel-opement posture of the language.
