摘　　要：全球共同应对生态危机，将林业赋予首要地位；国家全面建设小康和谐社会，林业作为经济社会协调发展一项重要的公益事业和基础产业；林业确定了以生态建设为主的可持续发展道路，正处在一个历史性变革时期；林业史研究及其学科建设历经时代孕育，潜能即将释发。林业史研究应站在林业发展史当今新的起点上，认清当代林业的历史地位及其为新时期林业史研究提供的历史机遇与重任，增强历史使命感和自信心，以古鉴今，启迪未来。Forestry is being attached greatest importance to in dealing with the global ecological crisis. Now our country is building a harmonious and moderately prosperous society in all respects and forestry is considered both welfare work and an important basic industry in the balanced social and economical development. The development of forestry has been set as a sustainable one mainly based on ecological development and it is at a historic transformation period. The study of forestry history and the development of its disciplines have been through a long time and its potential will be fully drawn out. When studying forestry history, the researchers should stand at a presently new starting point of the historical development, recognize the historic status of contemporary forestry and the historic opportunity and important task offered by it for the forestry history study of the new period. And they should heighten their sense of mission and confidence, study the forestry history to aid the contemporary forestry development and edify a prosperous future for forestry.
