摘 要:本文借鉴全国大学生英语演讲比赛的活动形式,探讨在综合英语课堂专门设立演讲活动的可行性及其教学效果。经过两学年实验,结果发现,综合英语课堂设立的演讲活动是一种以学生为中心的言语教学活动。它以主题内容为基础,突破传统纯语言形式的操练模式,起到引发学生能动思维的效果,从而给学生提供用英语交流的平台,增加学生正式讲话的自信心及交流意识,提高学生的思辨能力和综合运用英语的能力。这一活动的具体运作应考虑学生的认知水平以及综合英语课程的其他成分。Enlightened by the forms of the public English speaking competitions among China's university students, this paper studies the feasibility and teaching result of special public speaking activities conducted in the Integrated English Course. Through two years' experiment, we have found that those speaking activities, thought-prompting, are student-centered and theme-based, breaking through the conventional model in which speech exercises are mainly based on pure language forms, and that they can provide students with opportunities of exchanging their ideas in English, enhance their confidence in making formal speeches and their awareness of communication and promote their abilities to think critically and use the language comprehensively. We have also found that in concrete operations students' cognition levels and other elements in this course should be taken into consideration.
