摘　　要：我国近代翻译家严复提出的“信、达、雅”是影响最为深刻的翻译原则和标准,只是我们现在所说的‘信达雅’已经有了很大的发展和充实。英语新闻标题翻译可采取的翻译方法有“直译”、“意译”交互使用法、注释添加法、原文修辞再现法、四字词巧用法、诗词熟句套用法,这些翻译技巧的运用归根到底都是为了达到翻译的最高境界——信达雅。＂Faithfulness, Expressiveness and Elegance＂ proposed by Yan Fu, a prominent translator in Chinese translation history, has been most influential as translation principles and quality assessment criteria. However, this three character translation principle has acquired new meanings today. In light of its new meaning, the author discusses the methods that can be used in the translation of English news headlines
