Using Agent Technology to Implement Non-repudiation Without TTP

摘  要:Non-repudiation is a security service that provides cryptographic proofs for involved parties to settle possible disputes in the future. In general, non-repudiation service is implemented by using a TTP (Trusted third party), a dedicated computer trusted by both sides. In this paper, we present a novel non-repudiation protocol implemented without the intervention of a TTP. In our protocol, Alice (the sender) prepares a mobile agent with a safety proof, so that it won't give out any information unless it has got what Alice wants. Bob (the receiver) will check the saftey proof before he runs the agent. In this way, we can eliminate the possibility for Alice to cheat. The combined usage of Environmental Key Propagation and Execution Tracing technologies can ensure us the security of data carried by the mobile agent. Thus, Bob can not cheat either. Compared with previous TTP, we call this mobile agent a soft TTP. An analysis of is carried out to prove its security.
