摘　　要：语用综观论认为语言的任何一种使用情况都有隐含语用成分，任何语言层次上都能发现语用视角。以此观点考察影响英汉语言语序选择的主要因素，如信息分布、主题前置、语篇连贯、时空象似，都能够从语用综观论角度得到合理的解释。The pragmatic perspective describes all linguistic phenomena as pragmatic in that there is a pragmatic component in all language rules. Applied to the study on the choice of constituent order in English and Chinese, this all-encompassing perspective provides a pragmatic explanation for those seemingly random sequences in terms of information distribution, thematic fronting, textual coherence,and spatial-temporal iconicity.
