摘　　要：近年来,英国开放大学为适应新形势的发展需要,在远程网络教学、课程设计、虚拟学习环境、教学过程评估和反馈方面采取了一系列改革措施,促使开放大学呈现了新的发展态势。英国远程教育的发展理念和特点,将对我们的远程开放教育起到一定的借鉴作用。The Open University of UK has taken series of innovative measures for recent years in distance network teaching, design of curriculum, virtual learning environment, evaluation and feedback of teaching process, etc. to meet the need of new development. The article introduces the characteristics of The Open University and its notion of development.
