摘　　要：柯勒律治是19世纪英国保守主义的代表人物,然而他的思想却对自由主义的代表人物J.S.穆勒产生了很大影响。柯勒律治的宗教思想、半个真理的论述以及他的知识阶层的理念为穆勒提供了修正边沁功利主义的思想资源。Coleridge was one of the representatives of conservatism in 19^th century England, but his ideas had an important influence on J. S. Mll, who was a famous liberal at the age. Coleridge＇s religious opinions, his remarks about half - truth, and his idea of clerisy provided J. S. Mll the means to corrected the philosophyof Jeremy Bentham.
