从诗学的角度看被动语态变译的功能亏损——《简·爱》中的一个案例分析

摘　　要：本文从诗学的角度探讨小句被动结构在遭遇变译时所出现的功能亏损。这种功能亏损既有系统功能语法所说的语篇功能亏损,也有诗学中说的诗学功能亏损。案例分析主要考察《简.爱》的一个片断中含物质过程的被动结构的翻译。所选取的一段原译将该片断中的被动结构基本上都作了主动化变通处理。诗学和语言学的分析表明,译文对原文的语态变更虽然保留了原文语言层面的概念功能,但却不经意间损害了诗学层面的诗学功能和语篇层面的语篇功能。This paper explores, from a poetic perspective, function loss in the process of turning passive structures into active ones in literary translation. The analysis will reveal such a loss not only concerned with textual function in terms of functional grammar, but also with poetic function in regard to poetics. The case study draws a section from Jane Eyre and one of its versions, and the comparative analysis followed is focused on the translation of the passive structures in so-called material processes in functional grammar. It is found that although the version in question keeps intact the ideational function of the original by reversing most of the passive structures in material processes, the translator ruins, unconsciously, the poetic and textual functions of the unique voice configuration in the ST.
