摘　　要：色彩与人类生活息息相关,不仅具有本质属性,还有着丰富的文化内涵。作者从中西文化的三个层面即表层文化、中层文化和深层文化,对英汉色彩进行对比分析,探讨中西色彩文化内涵的异同,以便准确理解英汉颜色词的文化内涵,成功地进行跨文化交流。Color is closely connected with human life. It contains both its essential attribute and its rich cultural connotation. This paper makes a contrastive analysis of the color term usage from such levels as surface level, middle level, and deep level, which reveals the similarities and differences of the cultural connotation between the West and China. Through the careful examination, the paper aims at strengthening the awareness of interpreting the different cultural connotation of the color terms between the Western languages and Chinese in order to achieve the effective cross--cultural communication.
