摘　　要：菲茨杰拉德的文学才华得到了评论界长达半个多世纪的关注。笔者通过对他的四部长篇小说和几部短篇的分析,阐明了其作品的移情作用;还讨论了康拉德和曼肯的文学理论在艺术技巧方面对菲茨杰拉德的影响,以及菲茨杰拉德作为一个浪漫的布道士对背景的巧妙运用;最后剖析了菲茨杰拉德作品中本质的浪漫。This essay attempts to demonstrate that F. Scott Fitzgerald is a talented writer that requires a half-century commentary. The analysis of his four novels and several shorts is to clarify Fitzgerald＇s literary empathy. In terms of artistry, the thesis discusses how literary theories of Conrad and Mencken influence Fitzgerald and how Fitzgerald＇s use of setting contributes to his role as a romantic moralist. In the final analysis, the essential romantic in Fitzgerald＇s works is being looked at in depth.
