摘　　要：古希腊智者的教育活动有深刻的历史背景。当时希腊人对自身和世界的认识、雅典的强盛以及民主政治的氛围都对智者的教育活动产生了重要影响。智者收取费用为国家培养政治家,他们所开设的教学课程,既开辟了新的学术及研究领域,又扩大了教育的内容。他们的教育活动具有加强文化传播的功能,对雅典民主政治起到了很大的促进作用。Ancient Greek sophists＇ educational activity has a profound historical background. Their educational activity was greatly influenced by the cognition of the old Greek about themselves and the world, the prosperity of Athens and the democratic politics. By charging fees, they set up curricula to explore new fields of studies and enrich the educational contents to cultivate politicians for the state. Their activities help to spread culture and develop the democratic politics of Athens.
