摘 要:汉字作为视觉传达设计的重要元素之一,起源于象形文字,发展到现代还具有一些象形文字的特点。但是要看到汉字的象形特点已不是汉字发展的主线,已不会按照象形的方向发展,而是不断淡化象形色彩。汉字发展的主线,应该是表音和表义的规则化。会意字作为造字法之一,对其的创意设计是一种艺术创造,只要不超越文字的确定性和严密性,遵守"会意形声"的表音和表义辨识含义制约,就可以根据设计意图按照字体的要求进行创意设计。Chinese character, as one of the important factors of visual communication design, stems from hieroglyph and nowadays still has some characteristics of hieroglyph inspite of its development. However, instead of devoloping towards hieroglyph, the mainstream development of Chinese character tends to be the fadeness of its pictographic features and the regularization of its characteristics of ideography and phonography. This paper argues that the creative design of associative compounds (one way for word-building ) is an artistic creation. It is feasible to conduct the creative design according to designing purpose and typeface requirement as long as the designer complies with the rules of pictophonetic meaning identification (identifying meaning by phonographic and ideographic features - hui yi xing sheng) and does not go far beyond the certainty and rigorousness of characters.
