摘 要:"格致学"即"格物穷理之学"。19世纪中后期,"格致学"在内外交困的中国重新焕发光彩,成为中西学术连接的桥梁。此一时期,"格致学"的意义复杂多歧,其语义因时、因地、因人都有不同表达,在西学的引进者与中国的解读者之间亦存在差距。这种解读的"落差"与知识来源地的学术发展状况有关,也与知识新的落脚点的接受环境有密切关系。‘Gezhi’as a study of distinguishing matters means‘studying things to acquire knowledge’. During the later stage in the nineteenth centuries,‘Gezhi’ was roused with a lust for knowledge again in China but nonplussed both at home and abroad, as a bridge linking Chinese and western knowledge. In the period, the meaning of ‘Gezhi’ had many complicated branches, which semanteme was expressed variably depending on now and then, the field, and the person concerned. There was a gap also in conceptual solution of western knowledge between the introducers and Chinese readers.
