摘　　要：中国作曲家郭文景的最新歌剧《诗人李白》今年7月7日在美国科罗拉多州的中央城（Central City）作世界首演，获得一致好评。这是他继《狂人日记》和《夜宴》后的又一力作。这出新歌剧的一大特色是剧本和歌词优雅，似乎超出前两部作品。我看过的儿篇乐评皆从音乐和演唱方面着手，鲜有触及剧本。诚然，作曲家郭文景和导演林兆华功不可没，然而两位歌词作家——廖端丽和徐瑛，所花的心血，也值得肯定和尊重。Writing libretto for opera is harder than poetry writing or poetry translation-not only should each line be kept short,but rhyme and rhythm should also be paid attention to,particularly in contemporary opera like poet Li Bai ,which has a very complex musical structure,An original script with ＂text＂and ＂music＂that perfectly match,Poet Li Bai is a masterpiece.
