摘 要:全球定位系统具有在海、陆、空三方面进行全方位实时三维导航与定位能力,其主要目的是为陆、海、空三大领域提供实时、全天候和全球性的导航服务,并用于情报收集、核爆监测和应急通讯等方面。GPS在民用方面发展很快,最为人们熟悉的是车载GPS导航。这是一套极其先进的系统,能够侦测汽车在行驶途中的现时位置,帮助驾驶者在陌生的道路环境中准确地掌握前往目的地的路线。介绍了GPS及其组成、特点、用途及定位原理,并介绍了GPS车载导航系统的组成、功能及类别。Global Positioning System(GPS), a satellite- based navigation system, has a variety of applications on land, at sea and in the air. GPS works in any weather conditions,anywhere in the world,24 hours a day. It can be used in collecting data,monitoring nuclear explosion as well as emergency assistance. The civilian use of GPS develops very rapidly. The common civilian application of GPS is the car navigation system, the more sophisticated systems which determine a vehicle's location, then show it on a display map. The system allow a driver to keep track of where he is and suggest the best route to follow to reach a destination. The essay focuses on the special features, principles and applications of GPS, along with the components, functions and diversities of the car navigation system.
