大学与北京的文化品格

摘　　要：北京的文化品格,集中地体现为一种"首善文化"的品格。在北京"首善文化"品格的形成过程中,大学是必不可少的重要环节、源源不断的内在动力和不容忽视的主导性因素。北京的"首善文化"具体表现为经世性、先导性和包容性。它起源于北京太学(国子监)的建立,至现代大学精神形成而得到进一步的突破和升华。如今,随着经济全球化的深入发展,教育的基础性、先导性、全局性作用更加突出,大学对北京文化品格的影响空前重要。The cultural character of Beijing is typically embodied in its Prime Culture. Prime Culture has two aspects of meaning. One is that parallel to Prime Politics, Prime Economy, and Prime Society, but essentially guides and supports the latter. The other is the leading role in its exemplification and radiation functions for other provinces and areas. Prime Culture is particularized in capability, orientationality, and guidance. It was originated from the founding of Beijing Imperial College （Imperial Academy, the highest educational administration in feudal China）, and has been further promoted and advanced along the formation of modern universities. Presently, the fundamentality, guidance, and holistic status and role of education is more salient than ever before with the profound development of economy globalization, so universities has unprecedented importance and salience in affecting Beijing cultural character.
