摘　　要：中国画的"意境"和"留白"是中国文化和艺术的精髓,也是世界文化的宝贵财富。随着我国经济和文化的迅猛发展,人们对商品包装也有了新的要求,已经从"物质需求"发展到更高层次的"精神需求"。本研究通过对"意境"和"留白"的分析和探讨,提出了符合现代包装设计审美需求的新观念和新方法。Poetic imagery and intended blank embodied in traditional Chinese painting are the essences of Chinese culture and arts; both of them are also the wealth of the world culture. With the fast development of economy and culture in China, people＇s requirements towards the packaging design of commodities have reached a higher level; they have changed their ＂material needs＂ into ＂spiritual needs＂. Based on the analysis and discussion of poetic imagery and intended blank, this paper put forward the new conception and method which coincide with the aesthetic requirement of modern packaging design.
