摘　　要：水仙花是评论界公认的美国华裔文学先驱。她采取女作家常用的"大题小作"策略,以恋爱、婚姻、家庭和儿童生活为创作题材,在描写爱情、亲情和友情的同时,着意表现破坏这些感情的种族、性别、阶级关系和霸权势力,尤其是针对华人的种族主义和东方主义话语。在当时猖狂排华的政治气候下,作为欧亚裔混血儿的水仙花敢于彰显自己的中国血统,献身于用笔墨为华人抗争的事业,她的反抗精神、正义感和社会批判意识激励着后来涌现的一波又一波的美国华裔作家。Sui Sin Far has been recognized by critics as a pioneer Chinese American writer. Like many other women writers, she used the strategy of 'trivialization' by writing about love, marriage, family, and children to expose race, gender, class relations and hegemonic forces that impair interpersonal relationships, especially the racist and Orientalist discourses against the Chinese in America. Despite the anti-Chinese political climate of the time, Sui Sin Far, a Eurasian, dared to make public her Chinese heritage and devote herself to fighting for the cause of the Chinese in America with her pen. Her fighting spirit, sense of justice and pointed social criticism have inspired waves of later Chinese American writers.
