摘　　要：远程教育的发生和发展始终与信息技术、教育技术的发展紧密联系在一起,形成一系列历史发展阶段。伽里森、尼珀和贝茨等人在此基础上提出了三代信息技术和三代远程教育的理论。近两年,随着科技的飞速发展,一种崭新的媒体传播形式——新媒体(newmedia)正在逐渐走进并影响着我们的生活。本文对新媒体时代的远程教育面临的机遇和挑战进行了探讨。The development of Distance education is closely interweaved with the development of information technology and education technology, based on which the concept of three generations of distance education is proposed. In recent two years, with further progress of technology, new media enters into our life. This article probes into the opportunities and challenges confronting distance education in the new media era.
