摘 要:This paper critically examines in detail the three most influential error theories---contrastive analysis, error analysis, and interlanguage theory--and evaluates their impact on SLA respectively. In light of these theories, this paper also probes into their enlightenment on foreign language teaching, and provides several suggestions about strategies for conducting second language teaching. The paper argues that an integrated approach, which combines three theories, is needed to deal with the complexities of SLA and provide empirical evidence for the improvement of teaching methodology.
