摘 要:在经济全球化和文化多元化的历史进程中,中西译论迫切需要以对方为参照,重新认识和评估翻译中的重大问题和核心观念。中西译论之间既有相似性,也有差异性。无论是过于求同还是过于求异,都会妨碍中西译论间有效的对话互动。中西译论比较在中国和西方都处于初始阶段,中国方面的研究偏重于强调史实和一般性描述,西方的研究偏重于强调差异。本文以勒菲弗尔的“中西译论比较”为个案研究,分析如何从他者的角度理解中国的翻译传统和如何回应勒菲弗尔对中国翻译思想的误读,并指出中西译论比较应避免过于求同和过于求异,而是应通过古今译论融合、中西译论对话互动的路径达到互识、互证和互补的目标。In the process of economic globalization and cultural diversification,it is of urgent need for both Chinese translation theory and Western translation theory to understand and evaluate afresh some important issues and key concepts concerning translation studies from the Other's perspective. There are differences and similarities between Chinese translation theory and Western translation theory. Overemphasis on either side would hinder the effective dialogic interactions between the two translation traditions. On the initial stage of the comparative study, Chinese translation circle tends to pay much attention to historical facts and general description while its Western counterpart tends to overemphasize differences. Taking Lefevere's "Chinese and Western Thoughts on Translation" as a case study, this paper demonstrates how to understand Chinese translation tradition from the Other's perspective and to respond to Lefevere's misreading of Chinese thoughts on translation. This paper contends that there should be dialogic interactions between the translation tradition and the present study,between the Chinese translation theory and the Western one in the comparative study in order to achieve the goal of mutual understanding, mutual testification and mutual complementarity without overemphasizing either similarities or differences.
