There are mainly two kinds of college entrance examinations in US: SAT and ACT. In choosing students, universities and colleges in US give special consideration to the overall quality of applicants, but students' scores in the entrance examinations like SAT and ACT are also very important. College entrance examinations and enrollment of students are conducted independently. SAT and ACT are held several times each year, so students have several opportunities to attend the tests. Universities and colleges will generally regard their highest score as the final score. SAT and ACT are compiled scientifically with stable difficulty, which has won them a lot of trust from many universities. In China, it will be the trend for students to have more than one chance to attend the college entrance examinations and to have enrolling new students and students' attending examinations separated in the reform of college entrance examination system. But we must do a further study of the details concerning the reform and be very cautious in order to avoid any deviation in the operation.
