摘　　要：随着城市化的进行,作为南宁市地方特色的代表——中山路夜市正面临着存与废的困境。通过论述中山路夜市的社会功能以及民间和政府对其存与废的看法,探寻中山路夜市所具有的文化象征意义,为探讨传统文化与现代化之间的关系提供个案参考。With further advances of urbanization, Zhongshan Road Night Mar.ket, as a representative of local characteristics of Nanning, is faced with the predicament of survival or disposal. By discussing the social functions of Zhongshan Road Night Market and nongovernment and government＇ s views on its survival or disposal, the article probes into the cultural symbolic significance of Zhongshan Road Night Market with a view to providing a case reference to the studies on the relations between traditional culture and modern culture.
