比照与逆转：型式化在《讹诈》主题解读中的体现

摘　　要：叙事语篇通常有直接意义、社会意义和主题三个意义层次。主题是叙事语篇的深层含义,读者需要通过对语篇中的语言材料进行概括和推理才能获得,对"前景化"语言的解读有助于语篇主题的理解。本文在上述理念的指导下,对具体语篇进行主题解读。文章分析的对象是英国作家阿瑟.黑利(Arthur Hailey)的著名小说《旅馆》(hotel)中"讹诈"(Blackmail)选段。通过对其中几组主要型式化的分析,发现,随着故事的发展,作者对"讹诈"的对象进行巧妙置换,从而使故事结局发生戏剧性逆转——由"侦探长对公爵夫妇的讹诈"转为"公爵夫妇对侦探长的讹诈",揭露社会权力拥有者对弱势阶层的统治和控制,从而表达语篇的深层主题。There usually exist three levels of meaning in a piece of narration： literary meaning, social significance and theme. Theme is the most profound meaning and readers can obtain it only after generalizing and inferring. This paper presents an analysis of an excerpt from Arthur Halley＇ s Hotel （which is subtitled ＂ Blackmail＂ ）. By using several groups of patterning, Bailey interchanges the roles of the detective and the Duchess and in so doing reveals the theme of the context： the upper-class in control of the lower-class.
