摘　　要：威廉·福克纳的四篇以印第安部落为背景的小说《瞧!》、《求爱》、《公道》和《红叶》,描述了美国印第安文化灭亡的过程,堪称一部印第安编年史。以霍米.巴巴的后殖民理论观照这些作品,可以清楚地看到,这一过程在很大程度上也是印第安部落从对殖民文化的颠覆性模拟蜕变为对其认同和盲目模仿的过程。Faulkner's four Indian stories in a tribal setting,'Lo','Courtship','Justice' and 'Red Leaves',can be regarded as an Indian chronicle as they represent the process of the demise of America's Indian culture.When the stories are considered in the context of Homi Bhabha's postcolonial theory,this process turns out to be largely the one by which the Indian tribes move away from a subversive mimicry of the colonial culture and towards identification with and a blind imitation of that same culture.
