《天真时代》的叙事策略简论——兼谈作品中女性人物的权力意识

摘　　要：小说《天真时代》是美国现代小说家伊迪丝.华顿最成功的作品之一,曾获得普利策小说奖。华顿以其独特的叙事艺术表现了父权制社会对女性的禁锢与压制这一主题。文章认为,"可视化"人物塑造、省略和重复等叙事手法的综合运用在很大程度上决定了该作品的艺术效果并深化了小说的女性主义内涵。The Age of Innocence, the Pulitzer winner, is one of the most successful works by the American modern novelist Edith Wharton. By means of her unique narrative strategies, Wharton depicts the theme of repression and confinement over women. This essay suggests that, to a great extent, the narrative devices such as ＂visibility＂ theory, elision, along with repetition, contribute to this fiction＇s aesthetic effect, which intensifies its feminist implication.
