摘　　要：《吴宓日记》如实记录了新旧社会转型和文化变革在一代知识分子身上,尤其是在他们内心深处引发的巨大冲突和震荡。日记中代表两种异质理想或生存方式的"二马"之喻,透露出吴宓在现代职业化生存和传统济世情怀之间的艰难选择;而"殉情殉道"之说则是他陷入情感与理智、道德坚守与世俗诱惑的矛盾之中不能自拔的无奈托辞。《吴宓日记》作为私人叙事的文本,履行着自我认知和自我治疗的功能。它是吴宓的心灵自救之舟。The Journals of WU Mi records the internal conflict of the intellectuals in the time of social and cultural transition, this conflict being the reflection of the dilemma between modern professional life and the traditional values and his claimed martyrdom an excuse for his desperation in the entrapment of sense and sensibility, conventional virtues and worldly temptations. As a private text, his journals function as a way of self-salvation.
