摘 要:在自动指纹识别系统中,从指纹图像准确和可靠地提取细节点是一项很重要的工作,而指纹图像的质量和合适的增强技术又是指纹特征提取的关键步骤。根据方向一致性条件,可以将指纹划分为方向平缓区域和方向变化剧烈区域。在方向平缓的区域,提出一种新的方向滤波器进行指纹增强,增强算法具有自适应性。在方向变化剧烈区域,方向滤波器不能很好地增强指纹图像,因此在频率域中对指纹进行增强。实验结果表明:该算法对指纹增强有较好的效果、较快的速度。Accurate and reliable extraction of minutiae from the fingerprint images is an important work in the automatic fingerprint identification systems. Quality of fingerprint images and appropriate enhancement technique are critical for minutiae extraction. An orientation coherent map was calculated, and minimum coherent regions were determined as high-curvature areas and the others as low-curvature areas. This paper presented a new orientation filter to enhance fingerprint images in the low-curvature. The algorithm was adaptive. In the high-curvature areas, the orientation filter was not efficient for fingerprint image enhancement, so fingerprints were enhanced in frequency domain. Exper/mental results demonstrate the effectiveness and fast speed of the proposed method.
