摘　　要：《罗马热病》是美国女作家伊迪丝.华顿夫人著名的短篇故事之一。两位女性主人公年轻时双双背叛了友谊;二十五年后故地重逢揭开了隐瞒多年的秘密,她们发现自以为完美的爱情或者婚姻却如此不堪一击。针织是贯穿始终的主要人物活动线索,针织与丝线的象征意义为人物形象的塑造和故事情节的发展起到了关键作用。Roman Fever, is written by Edith Wharton, the famous American female writer. Two heroines betrayed their friendship when they were young, and came across 25 years later in Rome. As the secret＇ s being disclosed, they were disappointed to find that their love story or marriage was so weak. By means of text analysis, we will discover that knitting is one of the main activities, and the symbolic meaning of knitting and thread play a key role in the portrayal of images and the development of plot.
