摘  要:《尚书》不仅是中国最早的政事史料汇编,也是中国文学史上第一部散文集。以译笔"忠实"著称的英国著名汉学家理雅各,于中国儒、道、释三家典籍悉有译述,其中系统译介"四书五经"开创了汉学研究新纪元,所译《中国经典》一直被奉为"权威译本"。《尚书》是其译《中国经典》第三卷。他在追求准确传达原文意义的同时,也力求保证风格的忠实移植。本文从语气的描摹、意境的再现、情感的移植以及形象的保存等四个方面,配以具体的译例,论证了理雅各《尚书》译本文学风格的再现,希望能给我国的典籍翻译工作带来启示。Shangshu is not only the earliest compilation of political and historical documents in China, hut also the first prose anthology in the history of Chinese literature. James Legge, one of the greatest missionary-sinologists Great Britain has ever produced, has been known for his "faithfulness" in translating The Chinese Classics, which has often been understood as the authoritative version faithul to the meaning or the content of the original. But in effect, Legge was likewise a master of styles. The present paper intends to demonstrate how Legge, by accurately transmitting the artistic conceptions, speaking tones and emotions of the characters, as well as by cleverly imitating the SL forms, reproduced the literary style of Shangshu in his rendering.
