摘 要:本文以系统功能语言学中的评价理论为指导,提出了一种解读语篇主题思想的新方法,即评价意义分析法,并用此方法对《大学体验英语综合教程》第一册中的一篇课文的主题思想进行了解读。文章分别对课文中词汇、短语、段落等层面的评价意义进行了分析。分析结果发现,评价意义分析法能快速、准确地挖掘语篇的主题思想。为了验证这一结论,本文作者还对掌握评价意义分析方法的实验组学生和未掌握该方法的对照组学生识解语篇主题思想的能力进行了实证性研究。结果发现,两组学生在识解语篇主题思想的速度和准确度上存在明显差异。进一步分析测试结果得出的结论是评价意义分析法能帮助学生快而准地解读语篇主题思想。Guided by the appraisal theory of systemic functional linguistics, this paper comes up with a new approach to revealing the theme of a text, namely an approach to revealing the theme of a text by analyzing its appraisal meanings. Using the approach, the paper tries to bring to light the theme of a text in Experiencing English Integrated Book 1. The paper analyses the appraisal meanings contained in the words, phrases, paragraphs, etc. and the analyses show that the approach can help spot the main idea of a text quickly and accurately. In order to prove the conclusion, the author makes an empirical study of the ability to spot the main idea of a text on the part of the two groups of students-the students who have already had a good command of the approach and the students who have no knowledge of it at all. The result shows that the former can reveal the theme of a text more quickly and accurately than the latter.
