摘　　要：统筹城乡发展,建设社会主义新农村,必须培育一大批有文化、懂技术、会经营的新型农民。湘南地区培育新型农民,必须摆上更加突出的位置,要探索切合湘南地区实际的新型农民培育途径,并建立健全培育新型农民长效机制,发挥新型农民主体作用,为建设社会主义新农村打下坚实的人才基础。To make an entire plan for the development of both city and country and construct the new socialist country, it is necessary to cultivate a large group of new type of farmers who are equipped with culture, technology and management experience. The task of cultivating new type of farmers in south Hunan should be put at a more prominent place. Efforts should be made to explore the means of cultivating new type of farmers that go well along with the reality of south Hunan. Moreover, a healthy and long-term mechanism of cultivating new type of farmers should also be established to help them play an important role as a main body, laying down a solid intellectual foundation for the construction of the new socialist country.
