摘　　要：为向农民工提供有效知识援助,图书馆需了解他们的知识素养与知识需求。2006年夏调查组对武汉市495名农民工进行了问卷调查。结果显示,农民工信息知识能力在整体上依然比较低下,获取信息知识的渠道比较传统。虽然他们对信息知识作用的感知是良好的,求知欲望也很强,但业余时间少、经济收入低是农民工阅读难的主要原因,而地理位置远等则是图书馆利用难的主要原因。If the libraries want to afford effective knowledge aid for peasant workers, they must know their knowledge abilities and needs. In the summer of 2006, our survey group surveyed 495 peasant workers in Wuhan by means of questionnaire. The statistical data reflect that, on the whole, the peasant workers ＂knowledge skills and information abilities are poor, and their channels of acquiring knowledge and information still are conservative. They yearn for knowledge, because they recognize that knowledge and information play an important role in their lives. However, the less spare time, the lower income, become the main factors which let them feel hard to read. In addition, for the reason of the far distance, it＇s difficult for them to use various libraries.
