摘 要:近年来,语言学家及语言教师纷纷将"图式"理论引入阅读教学,本文通过对"图式"理论的阐述以及学生不能理解阅读材料的原因的分析,提出了"图式"理论在阅读教学中给我们的启示以及如何采用"图式"理论来培养学生的阅读理解能力。The relationship of students' background knowledge and EFL/ESL reading methodology is to be explored. This article presents a review study on the particular relationship between "Schemata" and reading comprehension. A reader's failure to activate and appropriate schema during reading is due to the fact that the schema, content schema in particular, which hinders him greatly from perfecting the reading comprehension. Some suggestions are brought forth for both ESL students and teachers to deal with the problem.
