摘　　要：典故是某一语言在使用过程中形成的独特的固定的表达方式。英文典故承载着英语民族文化特色和文化信息,与文化传统紧密相连。英文典故吸收了众多来自古希腊、古罗马、北欧古代神话等欧洲各民族的文化精髓,文章讨论了英语典故的来源与理解。它们言简意赅,形象生动,所以在体现语言的文化差异方面,典故比其他语言成分更具有典型性和代表性。透析典故的渊源,注意积累有关典故性成语的知识,对于更好地掌握英语大有益处。Allnsions are fixed phrases that go through the test of history and cannot be treated separately. English Allusions have manifested and absorbed the different national culture of ancient Greek, ancient Rome, and Northern Europe. They are more typical and representative than other forms of language on reflecting the cultural diversity. Knowing the source of Allusions and storing them up Can not only keep the original taste but improve the learning of English as well.
