摘　　要：大学图书馆向社会开放已成为信息化时代的一种发展趋势。日本大学图书馆向社会开放的有关政策、现状及社会读者利用图书馆的制度等情况,对我国大学图书馆向社会开放有重要启示。University libraries opening to the public is a trend in the information age. This paper introduces the policies and current status and the rules about Japanese university libraries opening to the public, and expounds some enlightenment to Chinese university libraries, including the importance and necessity, and problems and solutions of university libraries opening to the public in China.
