摘　　要：一方面积极抵御经济危机的风险,另一方面则加速市场洗牌,推进技术演进。面对席卷全球的经济动荡,国外知名电信运营商依然充满活力,在跌宕起伏中不断发展和前进。Nowadays, when most industries are suffering from the ripple effect of subprime mortgage crisis and shrouded in the shadow of economic crisis, the telecom industry, however has shown a certain immunity, and maintained a good momentum. US telecom operator AT&T, Verizon, which are in the center of the crisis whirlpool, have proved that by their financial figures. They have achieved net profit growth of 30% and 12% respectively in the second quarter of this year. Some European mainstream telecom operators such as Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Telefonica, have also said that despite global economic recession, they will not lower revenue expectations for the whole year. In fact, apart from the economic crisis, the telecom giants are faced with greater challenges coming from the industry itself, e.g. the invad-ing of the Internet players, the convergence between fixed and mobile, the surging demand for broadband and multimedia......all of these are the test of operators' adaptability. From industry convergence and infrastructure construction to technology evolution technology and terminal sales promotion, the foreign telecom operators are not only strengthening the existing competitive advantages, but also unceasingly exploring the way forward, so that the whole industry is still full of vitality in the competition, and is making a new start through transformation.
