摘　　要：奥斯丁的故乡史蒂文顿位于英格兰南部的汉普郡,在奥斯丁年代它是英国最繁荣、最稳定的乡村之一,以乡绅为主导的中产阶级文化氛围浓厚。长期生活于此使得奥斯丁对乡绅社会的价值体系、人际关系和思想感情的基本特征有着深刻的认识与认同。奥斯丁的小说风格因此也深受乡村文化的影响,具有自在奔放、清新幽默的特点。Steventon, the hometown of Jane Austen, is located in the countryside of Hampshire, southern England. In Austen＇s times, it was one of the most prosperous countryside in England and had dominating middle-class atmosphere of squires. The life there made Austen fully aware of and identify with the value system,human relationship and ideology of squire＇s society. Austen＇s writing style was therefore greatly influenced by its countryside culture and featured with freedom and humor.
