摘  要:在历史和空间身份上,修道院流动、多元的生存模式介入、扰乱并解构了鲁比本质的二元空间;在民族身份认同上,鲁比血洗修道院的罪行揭示了其对异质他者的禁锢与霸权。两大阵营并置与对抗的过程再现了非裔美国人在解殖和全球化进程中所遭受的身份冲突与文化困境。对抗的结果警示黑人族群应采取混杂的身份建构來协商文化冲突并争取异质文化间的平等关系。In recent years, the academic circle has laid particular emphasis on the biblical images in the analysis of Paradise , but few has touched the postcolonial study of cultural identity in the novel. As for the historical and spacial identities, the fluid and multiple living mode in Convent interrupts, disturbs and deconstructs Ruby' s essential binary space ; from the perspective of the national identification, the bloody massacre of Convent committed by Ruby men reveals Ruby' s confinement and hegemony over the different others. The process of the juxtaposition and confrontation between the two major locales represents the African Americans' identity conflicts and cultural dilemma inflicted in the process of globalization and decolonization. The consequence of the confrontation alerts that the black ethnic group should adopt the hybrid identity building in negotiating the cultural conflicts and make an effort on pursuing the equal relations for different cultures.
