摘  要:高职英语教学存在着学时少、任务重、学生英语基础差的状况。由于扩招,很多学校采取了大班上课。大班上课人均交流减少,课堂互动受到限制,学生的跨文化交际能力难以培养。2000年颁布的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》调整了语言技能要求,明确了交际范围,突出了学生跨文化交际能力的培养。因此高职英语教师要从根本上转变观念,逐步培养学生跨文化交际能力。It is quite common that in vocational colleges students have a weak foundation in English, while the assigned teaching period is insufficient for the huge programme of English teaching. The enlargement of the enrollment in these colleges has restdted in English teaching being given in big classes, in which the per capita communication between the teacher and the students and among the students is lessened and the interactive teaching is therefore limited. Under such circumstances, it's difficult to cultivate students' ability to conduct intercultural communication. The Curriculum Requuirements for English Teaching in Vocational Colleges issued by the Education Ministry in 2000 has explicitly defined the scope of intercultrual communication and emphasized the cultivation of students' intercultural abilities. Therefore, English teachers in vocational colleges should change their old teaching ideas and foster students' intercultural communication competence step by step.
