Music contains many factors in which tempo and mode are two important things that influence cognition the most. In the research about music enhancing cognitive performance, the classical experiment is the ‘Mozart effect' which means that exposure to stimulative music facilitates cognitive performance derives from a transient enhancement of spatial-temporal reasoning observed following exposure to a specific Mozart piano sonata. Mozart effect is controversial, and there are two different views about how music improve cognitive performance, one is nowaffective mediation and the other is affective mediation. Both are hypothesis and immature, however, they will be meaningful for the future study in this area. In order to understand how music influence cognition clearly, more advanced methods are needed to be introduced.
