摘 要:随着西方后工业社会和全球化时代的到来,在文化批判思潮的冲击之下,批判教育应运而生,且日见声势。语言批判教育旨在使学生看到语言背后隐含运作的权力而不受其蒙蔽和操纵。中国英语教育批判视野的缺失带来了种种弊端。西方批判教育的本土适用性这一根本问题尚悬而未决。本文以西方文化批判思潮知识观的流变为线索,寻绎批判教育的思想地基,追问批判教育的本土适用域限,从而为中国高等英语教育的定位提供理论支撑和宏观指导。With the coming of post-industrial society and historical context of globalization,and inspired by critical cultural thoughts,critical education emerged naturally and has grown rapidly in western countries. Critical language education aims to enable learners to identify hidden power in language and empower them from its deception and manipulation. The lack of a critical view in Chinese TEFL has brought about many problems. The basic question of the applicability of critical language education in local TEFL context remains unanswe^l. This paper just attempts to examine the applicability and thus provides philosophical underpinnings and macro-directions for English higher education in China by tracing the views of knowledge in western critical cultural thoughts and probing into philosophical roots of western critical education.
