摘　　要：西方修辞学在历史上曾辉煌过,衰落过,几经曲折,又在当代复兴。但传统修辞学的原有构架若即若离,为诸多学科所分解共享。修辞学作为一个独立的学科似乎不复存在,只能找到它的一些蛛丝马迹;作为一个话题,几成昔日黄花,渐渐销声匿迹,退出现代话语的舞台。古典修辞学的核心——演说论辩究竟演变为何物,归宿何方?这就是本文所要探求的问题。Western rhetoric was once and again prosperous or declining in history and revives in contemporary times after a lot of tortuousness. However, the original components of traditional rhetoric are now shared by many disciplines. As a discipline rhetoric is no longer independent, almost leaving no trace and as a topic of research it seems to be withered and gradually disappeared from modern words. What on earth does it turn to be, oratory or argument-the heart of classical rhetoric？ And where is it now？ These are the problems we are going to discuss.
