摘　　要：湖湘文化在内外交困的近代社会,受到西方文化的严峻挑战。湖湘文化在与西方文化的接触中,既表现出"惟我独尊"、"舍我其谁"的傲慢文化心态,又表现出虚衷受益、博采众长的非凡气度。湖湘文化在与西方文化的搏弈中,经历了一个由疑惧、排斥到被迫接受,再到主动融合的漫长过程,最终实现了近代文化的转型,并孕育出了湖南一代又一代优秀的人才群体,湖湘文化从此光耀寰宇。The modern society Hunan, with internal and external problems, was challenged by Western culture. Confronting with Western culture, Hunan culture not only demonstrated the sprit of ＂Exclusive＂, ＂Unique＂, but also showed a virtual of opening and learning from other cultures. During the fighting between Hunan culture and Western culture, experiencing from a suspicious, repelling to accept, from passive to initiative, Hunan Culture ultimately made the realization transition to＇the modern culture which nurtured Hunan generations of talented groups, promoting the Hunan culture.
