摘　　要：隐喻作为一种特殊的言语表达手段,用在文学作品中,旨在展示作品意犹未尽的潜台词。海明威的短篇小说《白象似的群山》在人物称呼,环境描写,对话叙述等各个层面,处处充满隐喻,极大地体现了海明威的"冰山"式的写作风格。Metaphor as a special linguistic device conveys what is not explicitly said or directly articulated. In Hemingway＇s short story Hills like White Elephant, metaphors appear in the appellations of the characters, description of the situation, depiction of the dialogue, etc, which embodies the basic features ＂iceberg＂ of Hemingway＇s extraordinary writing skills.
